Peace in Mind is a mental health and wellbeing campaign founded by Esther Ghey on the 15th September 2023, in loving memory of her daughter Brianna Ghey. The campaign was created in response to Brianna’s own experiences with mental health challenges and Esther’s determination that other young people should have access to the support, understanding and tools they need to navigate life’s difficulties.

At its heart, Peace in Mind is about prevention, compassion and practical action. The campaign focuses on introducing mindfulness in schools, helping children and young people to better understand their thoughts and feelings, manage stress and anxiety, and build resilience from an early age. Rather than waiting until young people reach crisis point, Peace in Mind aims to give them lifelong skills that support positive mental health.

The campaign works in partnership with schools, mental health professionals, local authorities and community organisations. Its initial goal is to ensure that every school in Warrington has access to trained mindfulness practitioners, with the longer-term ambition of seeing similar provision rolled out nationally.

Peace in Mind also champions a broader cultural shift, one where kindness, emotional awareness and support are valued as highly as academic achievement. Through campaigning, fundraising and collaboration, the initiative raises awareness of the pressures facing young people today and highlights the importance of early, accessible mental health support.

Above all, Peace in Mind is a campaign driven by hope. It honours Brianna’s memory by working to create a future where children and young people are better equipped to face challenges with confidence, empathy and peace of mind.
